1990 740 Turbo Wagon - Battery keeps getting drained 700 1990

Hey everyone, I'm a new Volvo owner and am getting pretty frustrated. It seems every third day or so my car won't crank. The battery gets completely drained, and I need to charge it for a couple of hours. I have one of two ideas about what it might be:

1.) There has been some hesistancy when starting the car. There may be some sort of electrical problem with the starter (but I have no idea what it could be - maybe a celonoid?)

2.) I just installed a new cd player; however, it is pretty normal and doesn't put out a large amount of power.

I got a new battery, and am hoping that is the problem. The alternator is putting out fine. Any suggestions? Any similar problems?

Thanks!

Bryan
