power antena on 240 ? 200

i have a 1990 240 5spd it has a stationary antena that i need to replace when i look in the trunk there is a wiring harness is this for a power antena ?
i see power antena units on ebay cheap will these plug into my wiring harness ?and do i need a switch to control this unit or does come up and down when you turn the car off and on or is it controled by the radio ? i have an after market radio its a sony cd player
