Wiper Switch or Wiring? 200 1998

Getting down to the little things in the 88 240 wagon I'm taking from under the spreading chestnut tree to back on the road. Lights all work now, new mufflers (why 2?), rotors etc.

What bugging me now is wipers work in slow speed & fast but they stop where they are when switched off. Intermittent doesn't work nor does mist position. Sound like switch or wiring somewhere. Saw in FAQ for 900 series there is a second circuit. Also rear wiper & washer appears to not be getting signal from switch - and yes redid tailgate wires through one hinge and for now by-passed 2nd hinge (I'll run wire through that hinge when I get more time) - other tailgate function now work (license plate lights, brake light, defrost, power lock)

Also - switched radio power (red wire to radio) is dead, right now connected to output blue wire (power antenna). So appears some circuit is still out.

Went through fuses. They look OK. replaced a couple just to be sure. No change.

So is it a broken switch or bad circuit/wire? Which wires to the switch should be getting power & when?

thanks!
