Head Changed Problem 900 1985

After changing the Head, the motor wouldn't start and we finally find the problem. It was bad chip within the ECM. But now there is this problem that the cam cover does not match the head and since they don't match, it over heats and could lock and crack the head.
Anyone out there knows how or where the crank cover may be adopted to match the cylinder Head?
I Thank You all in advance.
Sincerly, nyjhana.
