Head Changed Problem 900 1985

Dear nyjahan,

Good a.m. and may this find you well. I wouldn't try to adapt any part: given all of the work you've done to get the head replaced, I'd take no chances with an "adapted part" .

A salvage yard is likely to have the right cover. With a new gasket, you'll have put everything in proper order.

If you go to a yard, that lets you remove the part you want, you'll be able to pick the right one. In this case, mileage on the donor vehicle does not matter. Simply clean the part thoroughly, and inspect it closely.

If the salvage yard doesn't let customers remove the parts they needed, give the yard worker the year for the donor engine (not the car, as the part in question is specific to that engine).

Well done for sticking with this!! Post back with your results on the cam cover hunt.

Yours faithfully,

spook
