Mystery Heat Shield?

I have a rattle in my 88 240 that sounds distinctly heat-shield like. I've checked all the heat shields I can find along the exhaust, and they all seem fairly tight and have good clearance from other metal. And I had someone hold the bring the revs up and down while I crawled around the car, but we couldn't replicate the noise. I primarily get it on acceleration or deceleration, and it does cut out as soon as I depress the clutch. I'm thinking maybe worn tranmission mount? Did Volvo hide another heat shield in there somewhere?

Thanks all.
