Creaking/springy sound from wiper arms? 200 1992

I replaced the old rusty wiper arms and blades on my '92 (PIAAs are the best!) and they're wiping fine (speed seems fine), but they sound as though they're really laboring on the way up. . .the creaking/springy noises seem to be coming from below the hood and the motion doesn't seem as smooth as it should be. Does the mechanism just need some lubrication, or is my wiper motor about to blow? Thanks for your help!
