Will upgrading a Cam (IPD) Turbo do anything bad? (91 940 Turbo) 900 1991

I own a 91 Volvo 940 Turbo which I would like to do the IPD turbo cam upgrade to. If i do this,

(a)Once I ported and upgraded a Rotary on an RX7 and I turned a great nice car into a mess, great for the drag strip, but too herky jerk for around town driving. Will upgrading my Cam do likewise for my Volvo 940?

(b) Will my car stil make it to 250K? Right now it has 170K. I do all the maintenace and repairs, its got a new radiator, amass, O2, new struts and shocks, rebuilt front end with IPD sway bars.

(C) Will it still pass emissions?

(d) Will it still have family car driveability? My wife and kid use this car a lot.

(e) What i am hoping for is to keep the characteristics of my car the way it is , but to have some Kick A-- when i need it...I dont want to make this car into a noisey unpredictable strip car...
