How do you replace the 2 small steel lines connecting from your steering rack to your power gear box 700

Greetings:

I would like to know, what is the easiest approach in replacing the 2 smaller power steering lines, that are located underneath/inbetween the frame. The connect to the steering rack and the gear box. I have the smaller one out already, however i had to losen the 2 1/2 bolts that support the rack in order to get to the longer line. My question is would i have to suppport the rack upon removing these two supporting bolts? I just need about a good half inch or so to slide the old line out and the new one in. The brackets are currently keeping me from doing this. I just don't want to remove these bolts and have my steering rack to drop and get damaged. Please help!!!!
