OK its not the bolts its the flange on the cat.
The downpipe and cat I have is good but the pipe on the rear of the cat was cut off short when removed as the pipe was frozen to the resonator inlet pipe.

Can I leave the existing cat exit pipe in place, cut off the pipe at the old cat exit and mount the new (used) cat and slide the new inside the old pipewise?

It looks like it will work...
