If your carbs have slop in the throttle shafts, absolutely send 'em to Rhys. There's no tuning them when they're like that.

If that's not it, how well are the carbs synchronized? Take the air cleaners off, operate the throttle by hand, and see that the pistons begin lifting at the same instant. If not, adjust the cranks on the intermediate linkage so they do.
