Rust! -how big an issue in US? 120-130

This is the vote from the London jury:

Probably fairly similar to Danish conditions, with less snow, less salt and equal amount of rain. So we get less underside salt corrosion. I'm an enthusiast not a restorer but experience shows that any panel that can get water damaged DOES get water damaged. So there is common replacement of inner/outer front wings, lots of replacement sections for rear wheel arches, door bottoms, crossmembers, various pre-1967 rustable bits (is it trailing arms?).

My 1967 has just opened up a nice hole in the driver's (right!) floor, just in front of the handbrake; this is interesting because the leaking screen usually sends water to the other side, not the drivers side. Could be the upspray from the wheel and lack of underproofing, don't know.

My motto is: get te best quality repair sections you can, a competent restorer and you'll have a car that is almost as good as the original.
