Repairing auto trans cooling lines 200 1991

The cooling line to the radaitor has cracked as it was rubbing against the transmission mount (or maybe it;s the rear engine mount.)
I read others have cut line and put on hose. I assume we are using fuel ine here? How has this held up?
What bracket is missing which keeps the lines from rubbing on the bracket?
Anyone remember the fuel line hose size they used?
