This is a new post with more details for a problem I cannot solve:
Instrument panel high beam indicator lamp (blue) only works 1/3 of the time. It all started during a big rain storm yesterday. Also, left front bulb (high beam only) burned out at the same time. Today is a sunny day, so I pulled instrument panel out and replaced the peanut bulb and socket for high beam indicator, but still no high beam indicator light. I replaced the central lighting relay ($21), still no high beam indicator light. I replaced both front headlights, still no indicator light for high beams. I turn the car off, and then start it a couple of hours later, and now the high beam indicator light is working! Good, it’s fixed! Not really. It’s only temporary. After using the car for 45 minutes, I turn it off. Next time I start it the high beam indicator light on instrument panel is not working again, just like before. I wiggle wires, tap on things, etc. and it still won’t come on. I am getting frustrated, but I know you guys will help me out. All the front (high and low) and rear lights are working fine, just the high beam indicator light won’t light up. Any ideas on what the problem is? It’s a nuisance because I don’t know if my high or low beams are on at night and I don’t want to blind the oncoming cars. As you can see, this is a very unselfish post (ha,ha). Thanks,
