Using a Go-Kart to smooth the ride in a 700 700 1990

This is just an idle story. As a backdrop, I have been trying to soften the ride in the old box to counter certain critics in my life. I contend that most of the perceived rough ride is just that - perception. With the symphony of creaking plastic that is created on every bump, it just seems rough...or so my story goes. Suspension bushings check out as normal. Handling is good. Car is stock.

Anyway, for a bit of a blast, a few of us at work went Go-Karting yesterday to celebrate a colleague's promotion. What a hoot! Highly recommended therapy for when life gets too serious. Pure noise, pure butt compressing, supensionless fun.

So, a bit wiped after 60 laps (:-) and ears a-buzzing, I hopped in the old 745 to go home. Whoa, what a smooth, quiet ride. First I thought someone had let half the air out of the tries. Like floating on air. A limo couldn't match the perceived ride!

I think I will replace the foam in the passenger seat with a goose down and add ear muffs to the headrest.

One's view can get badly distorted if there is nothing to provide scale and perspective!
