Oil Breather Box removal for 945T 900 1995

Just bought a 1995 945T and dealer report from POs last visit says breather box seal is leaking. So I bought the o-ring and am attempting to replace it. How do I get the steel lines off of the EGR valve so I can get it out of the way to remove breather box? I have tried spraying with loosening compound and leaving for a day. I have tried tapping the lines while applying pressure away from the valve but so far no movement. I'm beginning to think a small oil leak is minor compared to damaging a probably expensive component. Any suggestions?
