fault codes 311 and 133 and "service engine" light on. TPS looks guilty? 200

I have a 90 240 wagon with 190,000 on it. (LH 2.4)

I've noticed a couple of hesitations and a stall or two, nothing drastic since the light came on.
I did the diagonostic and got the following fault codes.

3🯍--- vehicle speed signal missing.

1𠖧---- Throttle switch idle contacts misadjusted or grounded.

neither says the SERVICE ENGINE light should come on?, Does this point to another problem??

As far as the TPS goes:

I haven't tried to readjust the TPS, It does make the "clicks" the manual refers to when I open and close the throttle.
I was reading on testing the switch, unplugging and checking the different
terminals for continuity, but I can't see how to do this when the switch faces down and spades are close and out of sight, from under car??

What is the best way to find out if the switch is still good or not?

Any advice would be great .
Thanks

Chapster out
