164 vented discs on a 142s 140-160

Hi all.
I posted a similar message before and have most of the things worked out, but I thought I'd ask again.
I have put the vented front discs and calipers from a 164e onto a 1972 142s. I have bled the system with a pressure bleeder a lot and am fairly positive there is no air in the system, but the warning light won't go off and the pedal can be pumped up a bit to get a better feel and slightly higher pedal so obviously some air is still in. I do follow the manual bleeding sequence. I did replace the master cyl. with a reman. one, could this still be defective?
Is there something else I should look at? any ideas? I have bled this so many times. I have been using Valvoline brake fluid that says it exceeds DOT 3 and 4.
Thank you in advance for any help.
