cold start problem 200 1989

My son I just finished swapping an engine into his 89 240 dl. Everyhting weny well except now it starts incredibly hard when the engine is cold. It needs to crank for 10 minutes before it will catch some days. I have tested the cold start injector and ther resistance is consistant at 10.9 ohms. We are getting a fault from the coolant temp sender. i have tested the restance there several times at different temperatures. It is always wiyhin the spec. I don't get a reading from the temp sender at the FI ECU. When I put a 10,000 ohm resistor in the connector I did get a reading it just wasn't 10,000. I am testing 13 and ground on this sender according to Bently. Does anyone know if this is correct? Does any one know of anything else I could check or what the problem may be? When the engine is cranking the speedo will spike once in a while. Is that some kind of a tell? Any advice anyone could offer would be appreciated.

Also, we have a 1990 240 dl with some front end damage we are parting out. Tan with tan interior. If anyone is looking for parts we are in central Wisconsin.
