1981 Volvo B21A Engine info for Trev29 and anyone interested 200 1981

Hello Trev29,

As a follow-up to Distributor with Breaker Points (Contacts) and Condenser:

The Capacitance for the Volvo Dealership Supplied Condenser, P/N 1306223-7, is:
0.248 uF to 0.2512 uF (micro Farads). However, I do not know the +/- range, and would guess 12V and any temperature endurance properties. The question I have is Why is it nonly 0.248 uF versus 0.496 uF or 1.0 uF, or whatever??? Any ideas?

This is a $25 item in my area. I figure if and when it goes bad, to drill out the old one from the can and solder in a 50 cent replacement of the correct value. Imagine $25 for this.

The Volvo Dealership told me to replace the Airbox Thermostat, it would require the entire mounting bracket and the Thermostat costing (gulp) $410. I bought the original Wahler Part from FCP Groton for $18.70, including shipping, which took 5 days.

Dealership behind your name = License to steal
