Power Steering Pump 200 1989

I am getting ready to change out my P/S pump on my '89 240 GL

Is there anything I should know/do before I tackle the job? I am proficient enough to do the job. I understand it is pretty easy.

I am 99% sure I need to replace the pump because my belt started squealing, the P/S went out a few times when I started it up in the cold AM's (came back wihin seconds, though).... Two days ago the belt made a loud "screeching" noise on my way to work. When I got in it to drive home, it did the same thing and had no power steering! I also smelled the rubber belt burning.

I checked and have plenty of fluid in it with no visible leakage, and the belt seems tight enough... so I figure for $50 I might as well go on and replace the P/S pump.

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated before I begin.
