Transmission kick down cable stuck! 700

I have a 92 745 Turbo with auto trans and my kick down cable is stuck. I've looked at the Faqs to get the replacment cable info and it says something about pulling the cable to get the end in the transmission to where you can remove the cable. If my cable is stuck in the housing how do I do this?
