91 240 runs ten minutes, then stalls 200 1991

I searched the forum and did not find any threads that were exactly describing my current problem. 1991 240 sw, with the B230 engine and automatic trans. Car starts OK, runs and drives OK for about ten minutes, then the SRS light comes on, and engine begins to lose power. Car slows down, sputters, speedometer swings wildly, even when almost stopped. Engine quits and then will not start, not even crank over or click. Dead, although temporary because after a while, car will restart and drive another ten minutes or so. I have gotten it almost home tonight in two steps so far, and plan to go to where it is (two miles down the road) and try to get it home. I imagine this is a common occurance with bricks and hope someone here can shed some light on the situation. Thanks, Bob

Just returned from the car, it has sat for about 3 hours or so, and cranked (weakly) but won't start. The battery was new last year at this time, so I don't think that is the problem; maybe throw some cables on it tomorrow and see if she starts, and get it home.
