New shocks raise rear end much? (745t)

Shocks on this car are DONE- enough to pass inspection but barely. I'm guessing that new gas shocks (Bilstein/Sachs) will raise the rear somewhat.

I've read that the springs weaken w/time but would prefer to not have to replace figuring if I do rear springs, I should do fronts and then I should do the struts and mounts too and then suddenly I'm $500 deeper into a car with 200k miles and a beginning-to-get-tired engine. Any thoughts- mechanical, philsophical or otherwise?

Thanks-
Tony
