How do you keep the dash from cracking? 200 1993

Best you can do is keep a sun shield over the front window. I don't even know if that will keep it from cracking; I have one hanging from the rafters in the basement that had no cracks when I put it there a year ago, but now has a nice obvious split in its top.

The original dash on our '79 has no cracks, but those old dashes are different breed than the 81- style.
