960/760 headlihgts

I got yet another hole through the headlight in my 960 tonight. That makes 5 in the past year between it and the 760. At several hundred bucks a pop, and my insurance company's extreme reluctance to cover me for glass or headlights any more (up to 500 deductible now), I have to find a cheaper way to replace these babies.

I see on ebay that several vendors are selling the lenses only. HAs anyone used these? Are they any good? How do you remove the old glass and what do you tack on the new lense with??

living in the north, where they seem to use 3/4 minus for sanding roads....
