How do you keep the dash from cracking? 200 1993

No cracks in dash of my '88 240 wagon - PO and PPO spoke fluent enough Volvo to instal nice carpet dash cover (I know that doesn't count) My '84 360GLT, may she Rest In Peace, had no such dash cover until I got her and her dash was riddled with cracks - I guess Volvo were experimenting with biodegradeable dash to match the wiring harness...get a nice carpet dash cover to fit your '93 and enjoy crack-free bricking. (not very punny I know) btw Here in New South Wales, Australia, if the dash has cracks one must get a cover to have the car passed as roadworthy.
