Radiator support differences? 200

About a year ago when I was planning an '86+ E-code conversion for the '84 245Ti I parked the '88 and the '84 side by side to see what I'd have to change. I remember being surprised to notice the E-codes wouldn't bolt up to the '84 support. I don't have any early cars anymore so I can't take pics but I can assure you I wouldn't have gone as far as buying all the parts if I didn't HAVE to to do the job right.

One thing I do know, the lower panel below the lights has a small filler on the later cars where the bottom of the headlight frame sits on the early cars, both of the retrofits I've seen had a 1/2" gap under the late style lights that clearly indicated they did not belong there.

Still have the parts laying around taking up space too darn it.
