Quick v-belt question, need answer tonight!! please =)

Just saw your post, sorry if the night is too far gone to help.

Check to see if the a/c belt squeals differently when the a/c is engaged or not. That will indicate whether the problem is the a/c clutch bearing or something else. (No noise when engaged = clutch bearing)

Disconnecting the drive belt will also remove power from the pwer steering pump. OK to drive that way, but will require a lot of steering effort.

Re: vibration dampener. The pre-B230 engines use a heavier fly wheel to do that job, I do believe.
