shift point at O/D? 200 1989


Your shift points sound normal except for 3 to OD. My car under light acceleration will shift from 3rd to OD at 38MPH. I've seen others post theirs as low as 35 MPH. Obviously much higher if floored...

Adjusting your cable is a piece of cake. No problemo...Go to the 700/900 FAQ AW70's series transmission section. Same tranny as ours... There is a subsection on adjusting the cable. Read down a little bit and follow Don Foster's clear instructions. I found Don's instructions clearer and simpler than the other guy. It really is easy - 2 nuts and a wrench. If you don't get it right the first time keep at it. It took me a number of tries to get it right......
