242 GT defroster doesn't ---- it just makes it worse ! 200 1980

Tried to defrost the inside of the GT this morning (38 degrees). Car was outside all night. Scraped ice off windshield; after starting the car and runnign the defroster, the inside of the windshield was more wet than it was before. It fogged up the inside of the door windows, too ! Had to wipe it off the inside of the windshield just to see down the road. This lasted through a 30 minute commute. I saw a couple of small spots clearing near the bottom of the windshield, but that was about it. No, there's no core leak onto the mats / other interior moisture that I'm aware of.

Any ideas why this defroster just makes things worse instead of clearing the moisture ?
