i probably need new rear shocks for my '90 769 turbo wagon... 700 1985

...would like to know the difference beteen nikkomat (?) and standard rear shocks (if available). i think the former are self leveling (is this a big deal?). my wagon sems to sit a little low in the rear by maybe an inch. a bounce test seems to pass, though and to me it seems to ride okay, but i don't care for it " sitting low in the stern"..
...
in any case, i'm sure several folks here have replaced suspension hardware on their rwd wagons.
would appreciate any suggestions, i.e. best combo of cost and ride quality.
tia,
flaps.
