U-joint tips, anyone...? 200

After two trips to the local shop, the center joint still feels bound. Plus I think they crunched the driveshaft in the vise a little. The mechanic said, "I told Danny not to have that kid do those u-joints..." Now I've got the volvo optional vibrating seat, starting about 50. (Heated seats and I'd have something.) Back to DIY.
I took the rear shaft of the 76. (It's so rusty when I jacked it onto blocks, the tranny crossmember crumbled out on one side. Another story.) BTW, I know the shafts are dynamically balanced. But w/no P`nPulls here I'm f....uhgetaboutit.
I did get the old u-joints out with a bench vise and sockets.
What kind of job am I looking at getting the new ones into the old driveshaft? Any tips or painfully learned secrets?
Thought about posting in all caps, you know, for more emphasis, BUT DECIDED NOT TO!
