Is my 960 Transmission dying? 900

Hey all

I have a 1994 960 with a transmission that has some frightening symptons. First off, it shifts moderately hard between 1st and 2nd gear. (not as bad as some other cars i have been in, though.) Also, this transmission has the lockup feature. Between 3rd gear and 3rd gear lockup, the engine usually jumps about 2-300 rpm's. Is this a sign of a dying transmission?
