The 940 turbo may and I say may be just a bit faster, but by so small you probally would never notice. I had a good 94 940 turbo and would not even compare to the 960 for comfort. The 960 is and was the top of the line for RWD volvo vehicles. If I were looking for a 960 I wouldn't look for one before 95. The 95 to 98 960's were the best ones
