no reverse 700

1986, 740 n/a . Haven't had time to even look at this problem yet. Son came home last night and said he had no reverse. Got in the car for a couple of minutes this morning and here is what happens. All gears wants to go forward. Putting the car in rev. will get it rolling forward until you put your foot on the brake, then it stops rolling and when you take your foot back off the brake it will just sit there. Sorry, no more info. yet. Sound familiar to anyone. Will post more nfo when i get home tonight and get to have a better look at it.
