problems with new clutch 200 1984

I just put in a new sachs clutch in my '84 245 (M46) a couple of months ago, and within a day or two of driving it, I noticed a couple of troubling things. After a few minutes of driving, when I start off in first, the clutch disengagement is nice and smooth (surfaced the flywheel) through almost all of the pedal travel, but then grabs pretty harshly right at the end and teh car jerks forward. Acts a lot like an oil-soaked clutch, but it's brand new, and I was careful to clean all of the protective grease off of it before I installed it. Like I said, doesn't do it when cold, just after a dozen or so starts from a stop. Also, and probably related, I just noticed today that the clutch slips slightly in all gears under heavy loads at high rpm. I noticed it trying to merge onto I-5 yesterday, when I had to rev it pretty high in third, and it started slipping once it hit what sounded like 3500 or so. Hadn't had to lean on it that hard since I installed it.No slippage whatsoever under normal driving, including going up steep hills in 4th gear, just when I'm accelerating hard, and only after 3000-3500 rpm. Any ideas? There was a bit of a rear main seal leak, but I replaced the seal, and in any case, it doesn't seem like a couple of days of driving would be enough for any oil to get around teh flywheel. After spending two days under that thing, I'm in no mood to pull the tranny again...by the way, I'm pretty sure the cable's adjusted about right, clutch pedal sits right with the brake pedal, and disengagement starts about halfway up. Thanks,

Matt
