Driving in snow 900 1993

Hi again! Well,it has "snowed" an inch or so and was driving the Brick going fairly slowly and tried to navigate a right turn and suddenly lost it and almost smacked into a truck waitng at a light.

Is there some veteran advice as to how to "drive" in snowy or sleet/freezing rain that would keep me from patronizing the local body shop?

PS I DID add two 70lb sand tubes over the rear wheels after this happened but haven't had the "opportunity" to test it out.
