Ideal Brick to buy?

1) 240/740/850/940/960
2) 850/940/960
3) 940, and to a lesser extent, newer 850's.
4) 940, hands down. 850's are not easy to work on, and 960's have a lot more electrical complications. Still, no Volvo has ever been "great" on electrical systems.
5) Just about any car!

As an overall package Volvo RWD wagon, taking reliability, durability, comfort, and performance into factor, the 1995 940 Turbo is the pinnacle. Do expect to pay a premium and get some strange items in the build, as if they ran out of parts. Some 940's had 850 parts. :)
