Timing belt conversion: B230F to B230FD 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

May this find you well. The B230FD engine's timing belt has a 100,000 mile (160,000 Km) change interval, versus the B230F timing belt change interval of 50,000 miles.

The key difference between these belts is, I belive, the shape of the teeth. On the "B230F" belt, the teeth have square edges. On the "B230FD" belt, the teeth have rounded edges.

Has anyone converted a B230F engine, to take the B230FD belt, by switching the crank, intermediate, and cam sprockets? Would anything else need to be done?

Thanks for sharing your insights.

Yours faithfully,

spook
