random stalling problem, tried everything! 200

Hi there,

Well, let's give it a try, and a shot in the dark one at that, since it looks like you've addressed almost everything. One thought is the ignition switch or the wiring harness going into it. I know your list says you tested it, but since this is a random stalling problem, the switch or contacts might have been aligned fine when tested, but break apart under random scenarios. Putting in a known good ignition switch might help.

Also, I had a similar experience with my 1980 w/B21F motor. Diffrent motor, differnt ignition etc., from yours, but stalling symptoms were identical. Turned out to be a bad distributor. I tested the distributor 8-10 times, and all looked good. Then one time during one test, it ested faulty. Next 5 tests it tested good. This wuld explain teh inability to "bump" start the car -- no electricity for spark.

So, my pit is that electrical grremlins can be very intermittent, and may not always show up on tests.

Mike
