Are new Volvos as durable as the older models?

We put 98,000 miles on a '98 S70GLT and it was just getting broken in when we traded it in for a '03 V70T5 (had to do with bigger family, etc) So far we have 15,000 miles on the V70T5. The S70 had no warranty problems and only had to make trips to the dealer for some recalls (door panels, headlight wiring mod and an airbag wiring check if I remember correctly). The V70 has had no issues so far. I do all my own servicing. They are not as easy to work on as the 240/740 models (I still have a '89 244) but I still manage with help from this board.
