Need HELP w/ HEATER CORE 900 1994

I am considering changing my heater core myself, but it looks like it’s going to be a tough job for the limited automotive skills I have. The biggest job I have done so far is changing my trans in my 240. I was told that it could take as little time 45 minutes to 12 hours. My biggest fear is setting of the air bags how do stop this from happening? One more thing I have called around town here and I found a very good Volvo mechanic that would charge me $550 to do the job. Should I just pay him to do it??
