Does cruise control affect mpg?

Cruise generally increases mileage, by maintaining a smooth, steady speed with only moderate changes in throttle settings as needed based on load.

But, like Evan mentioned, Turbos and cruise don't play nicely together. Usually, when starting up an incline, the cruise will summon more thrust, then the turbo kicks in and blows you past the target speed, cruise backs off, speed drops as boost falls away, cycle repeats, etc... Makes for an bad mileage and crappy driving sensations all in one!
