MPPE dyno results 1800

For those who don't know, MPPE stands for Multi-Purpose Performance Engine. It's a B20F, normally aspirated carbs, no computer anything. It runs on 92-octane and is a regular street driver. It's in my '67 1800S.

Yesterday Cameron Lovre and I spent three hours running it on a DynoJet chassis dyno tuning it. The session was productive, but we're not done either.

160.7 SAE corrected wheel horsepower @ 5900

153.0 ft/lb @ 4700

This is not BHP at the flywheel... this is what the car is actually putting on the ground. The numbers are corrected for atmospheric pressure, humidity and temperature -- we ran in conditions more favorable than the standard at which SAE rates power, so it's a penalty. Uncorrected numbers were 6-7 HP higher.

I don't know how much power the driveline eats up, so I don't know what flywheel HP and torque really is. Speculate at will.

There's at least a few more HP to be had, and a lot more torque. We know what the problem is with that, but were not able to cure it in the dyno time we had available.

Cam, a Great Big Thanks for all your help -- it was a real treat to be working with you again!
