Fuel delivery issue 200

I have an 89 240 wagon. About 3 months ago the car started hesitating upon acceleration It has gotten worse. Now when I start the car it chokes spits and sputters until it warms up a few minutes later but I do have to wait to drive or it stalls. I took the #1 plug out 3 mon ago and noticed it was wet--gas I assume but it didnt smell like gas. I have not cleaned or checked my injectors with 205,000 miles. The car runs well on the highway--wouldnt know there is a problem. What does a wet plug mean? I have used techron but hasnt seemed to help Fuel filter is 1 yr old. As always any help is appreciated Phil
