ad business 200

An ebay ad for an 84 makes a fairly outlandish (and typical) claim that "Electrical systems are in perfect working order", which in IMHO is impossible, the point being that further down, all claims are explicitly disclaimed:

"This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith."

Such a seller can say anything they want about their goods, anything, since it is all rendered meaningless by later language. You have to actively ignore these descriptions; it's almost like watching TV commercials. Here in Ontario we get ads about owning the top of the line vehicle apparently for the pretax monthly lease fee.
