Question of about Black 240 Turbos

Ever since I purchesed my black 1983 244 turbo about three weeks ago I have been looking out for similers ones but have not seen another black ones. I know that it was a original color, but wonder why they are so few and far between. The car is an origina Oregon car, so it is not like it was sold outside the area. Also, I notice that for the most part that paint has held up very well. What kind of process did they use to paint these cars? lacker or just enamal. The paint on the hood roof and trunk lid out lasted the original paint on my 88 240, which I thought was interesting, thus making me think they used a differet process.

Thanks and happy bricking.
