I'm about to break a record! (and OVT's Racecar work has started...) 140-160

After I'm done being sick... (Stupid cold) I'll go out and finish this tank off... It'll be a record for my car for gasmileage. I think i'm going to break 300 miles on one tank! Last tank I managed 17.8 mpg with about 50/50 city/highway. This tank, with about 10/90 city/highway, is the best i've ever done on a tank of gas. And this is with a 4spd, no OD, averaging speeds of 60-80 mph(3300-4400rpms basically) for an hour and a half, three times, and some city driving while trying to be light on the throttle. Oh, and there was one 90 mph "burst" in there too. So I wonder how many mpg I'll pull out of this tank. The only time I ran it almost dry,(it would cut out when going uphill), i got 283 or so miles on the tank. I'm already at that point with more than 2 gallons left in the tank, so we'll see.

Then, about THIS!:

^That^ would be a sampler... There are a few more pictures here.

This is a 1973 142 that my club is stripping for use as a drag car to begin with, then as a drag/track car, and then finally when we're done with it, a drag/track/show car! It is going to be SOOOOO awesome it IS funny. *sigh* I'm so excited. And it looks sooo good right there! In that picture, it has 17x7 Team Dynamics Motorsports wheels on it off of my Tony's 242 with th 242 offset in flat black. These wheels are no longer available(I WISH THEY WERE!) and he was just putting them on for test fitting using this size with some other Team Dynamics wheels. The car has no engine in it, and no front springs or shocks, so it's just lightly resting on the stock, tall bumpstops up there, and then the rear of the car is supposedly stock height(although with a decent amount of "junk in the trunk"). This is basically the stance that we'll be looking for probably, and it looks awesome! Plans are to use a b23FT, megasquirted, and it'll be stripped down and it'll be awesome. I spent some of the day on saturday stripping the car of some interior stuff and the rear bumper. (after looking for a job and going to an interview to pay for the insurance that i reinstated on my credit card...) I'll keep you guys updated!
Peace!
