Need help helping a friend with '90 740 700

I'm helping a friend to make a choice on whether to buy a 90 740 Wagon. It seems to be in decent mechanical condition and started right up when we test drove it. Problem is that it DIED about 5 minutes into the drive. At first it wouldn't re-start, after poking around under the hood a bit, it did re-start and no further problems. It actually drove pretty well after that.

Check engine light came on, so I checked the OBD and got 2-2-1 and 1-2-1. Both codes can relate to bad AMM wiring or bad AMM.

My question is whether this could just be bad electrical connection, since it's been sitting for about 3 months, or if there's something else I should be looking at too?

Thanks!
